Eastman ATV June Update

The ATV Ride for Mom was rescheduled to Saturday October 14th. This was due to Level One Restrictions imposed ahead of the original date. There was concern from government officials about 400 plus machines in the starting area. Safety 1st, we have to respect the decisions made by the officials. We have advised sponsors, ticket holders, volunteers, and Eastman members of our new date. We have never had fire ban restrictions in October. That’s why we use it as a fall back date to be certain it will be a go. The trail was in awesome condition for the event, maybe a little wet in places, I’m sure it would have been fun!

Sales for the October ATV Ride for Mom are still on, it’s going to be a great fall ride! Tickets $50 online at $50 per machine and $10 per extra rider for lunch ticket, extra lunch tickets available. https://atvrideformom.com/

Congratulations to ATVMB, Bill 8 has passed and will bring funding to our ATV community. This change will be looked back to the beginning 2nd stage of organized ATVing in Manitoba. The 1st being the organization of ATVMB. Eastman ATV has been a strong supporter of organizing from the beginning, very involved with ATVMB, and you can see how it has helped develop our club by learning from ATVMB about governance and planning. We work to envision a long term plan. Talk to your board, or myself, and let’s put our ideas together to make our club the best it can be.

The trails are open. There are currently no restrictions on travel. Practice safe riding by making a ride plan, and being prepared for conditions you may not expect. Take your time and enjoy riding in a group of 2 or more. Get out and enjoy Manitoba!

Join Eastman ATV at; https://eastmanatv.com/product/membership-2023

Our riding schedule will be slightly revised, an update will be emailed shortly to all members.

ATV Ride for Mom – Jun.3 – POSTPONED

Unfortunately the ATV Ride for Mom has been postponed to October 14th.

Level One Restrictions are still in place with no backwoods travel as the risk of fire is too high.

We look forward to a safe event on Saturday October 14.

If you are still looking to ride this weekend, please check both HERE and with the RM you are riding in.
There are many other trail systems that have fire bans and/or backcountry travel bans.

Eastman ATV April Update

Eastman ATVs 2023 AGM

When: Saturday April 15, 2023 1:00 PM

Where: Club Des Blés D’Or, 1254 Dawson Rd. Lorette Mb.

Why: An AGM is a required part of our constitution, and provides an opportunity for club members to be involved in the election process. It allows a glimpse into what we are up to as a board, how we work together to make the club a success and gives you information where you could fit in as a volunteer.

Coffee and donuts will be provided and we have a $100 Princess Auto gift card door prize this year for all eligible members in good standing in attendance. We look forward to seeing a packed house which will allow us to continue to move the club forward through 2023 and beyond! We need your support, this club does not exist without it’s volunteers!

You do not need to be a member to attend the AGM, but you do need a current membership to vote at the AGM.

Please RSVP if you plan on attending at info@eastmanatv.com so we can be sure we have enough people to make quorum (and buy enough coffee!). We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Membership: The link below allows you to easily obtain or renew your membership. $50 secures your access to all club rides, insurance discounts and more! Our website now allows the option to pay via cheque, e-transfer, or credit card/paypal. Sign up online or in person at the AGM!

January 2023 Eastman ATV Update

Happy New Year to you and your families. I hope you were able to spend time together and see friends and loved ones. My family brings to mind my ATV family, and the many friends we all have with each other. Eat well, enjoy those around you, and we can all look forward to seeing each other in the 2023 riding season.

Eastman ATV welcomes the new year with interest and excitement.

The BIG NEWS

It’s looking like ATVMB will  get provincial funding based on a proposal ATVMB put forward a number of years ago. The proposal was  inclusive with the snowmobile federation. The bill that has passed 1st reading will help both federations. It is still a year or 2 before we see an impact, if the bill passes. So great news but nothing is final yet.

Why join an ATV club?

In Eastman ATVs Constitution and Bylaws we have;

Article 2. Purpose To promote and practice safe and environmentally responsible ATV riding, to protect ATV access to public land, (in summary). The Number of members in organized ORV clubs is becoming more important now than ever before, especially  as we move forward with the ATVMB.

2023 Eastman ATV membershipswill soon be available online and will have an attached survey.  We appreciate your help in building a club identity. Once you are a member, you will get both the Eastman ATV Monthly Update ( this email ), and the Eastman ATV Ride Update, sent out 7 to 3 days before our rides, pending storms. Give a friend or relative the gift of membership.

We will again provide the Ride Schedule once we have membership open. It will give the scheduled locations with dates for the ATV rides for the year. We know we have a large number of members that attend few, if any rides, and may not be involved at all in the club. Thank you for joining or re-joining; your membership support is greatly appreciated. For those of you joining us for the rides, Let the good times Roll, it’s going to be a fun year!

See our store for hats, T-shirts, jackets and our 2023 Calendar, I love it. Give a friend or relative the gift of membership.  We have exciting announcements on offering additional  ride styles, stay tuned.

Its is going to be a fantastic year

Kindly

Don C. Eidse

Eastman ATV December Update

Hello to Eastman ATV and friends
Seasons Greetings!

It’s been a good riding season, we were able to complete all but one of our rides, we had great times on the rides and at the Eastman Bud Spud Fundraiser Dinner. Over all very sucessful.  I think our rides get a little better every year and being organized makes it a safer experience too.

The Trail was closed for an unprecedented high water level in a number of areas on our trail, never seen it like this before. Not a lot we can or could have done about it, one thing for sure, every year is different on our trail. As we acquire equipment we will be able to restore the trail to make it passable sooner than later.

We paid off our Tractor!!! through our various fundraising requests. A big Thank you to everyone for supporting Eastman ATV!!!  Thank you to the Eastman ATV board for decisive action and supporting of those actions with everything to do with this deal. It’s the perfect piece of equipment for us now, a great match to our dump buggy. There are lots of photos already of the many hours of work it has done. Congratulations Eastman ATV!!!

Great ideas and actions were taken to make this happen and by paying this off briskly we continue to demonstrate responsible business ethics. EATV is in a strong financial situation as far as managing the fundraising and grants that we have worked hard to to develop. We try to match every single dollar to matched grants where we can.  Whether it is 30% or 50% matched, whatever we can apply for. The tractor had no grant assistance, just smart and hard work.

Our board is now 10 voting members. We are preparing for a new season and I will be sending a volunteer task list out in the new year.  Being specific in our tasks for volunteers has helped people decide if it’s a fit for them or not. Please don’t be afraid,  meeting new people is healthy, meeting new people and being helpful is rewarding with Eastman ATV.

The RM Ditch Clean Up was a repeatable success, Wow what a home run event, looking forward to doing it again next year.!

I wish everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday Season this December, and we have some great news coming up….

Kindly,
Don C. Eidse
President

Eastman ATV September 2022 Update

What a difference a year can make.

Last year we had a backcountry travel ban because of the dry weather and this year we were held up by too much deep standing & running water. All the rainfall seriously damaged trails. It seems the wet weather is ongoing and our volunteers are putting more time in than they have in the past. It is a daunting task to manage these trails. Part of the solution in overcoming trail management is having access to the right tractor that we ( Eastman ATV ) are fundraising to pay for. We have asked the club membership for support and some members have really stepped up. Thank you for your donations big and small, they all count! We still have a long way to go to completely cover the cost. I will provide updates along the way starting in November after our next board meeting. This tractor is an amazing piece of equipment for the club that has helped greatly as it is most suited to do the tasks at hand, and it is within our reach to pay for.

Eastman ATV is a healthy organization with a full ride schedule. We have a few rides left for this season along with our wind-up. Our board has more members than it ever has.

However, there are a lot of different ways to help.  Maybe you’d like to help with organizing, or perhaps you would like to come out on our pre-rides to help out, or you might like to help with trail repairs and tree clearing.

Do you have any free time during the week?

While purchasing a membership is a big help and greatly appreciated, volunteering can give you a little stewardship which is what brings Eastman ATV members together. When you see “Own the Trail”, we think of trail stewardship. It’s a great feeling! Join Eastman ATV   https://eastmanatv.com/product/membership-2022

ATV Ride for Mom

The Fundraising total was  $11,820 for Cancer Care Manitoba, which is close to what we have raised in the past. Considering this ride was put together in 3 months, we are happy we pulled it off and that we are maintaining the funding stream for Cancer Care Manitoba. This year was more work than anyone would have imagined. After not having the ride for 2 years, it took everything we had to make it work. We had enormous challenges with nature (water) like no other year.  Interesting fact, none of the ATV Ride for Mom prize winners were from Winnipeg. They were all from the country or a small town MB. Have a look at the Ride for Mom video on our YouTube channel. We are looking forward to next year’s event.

A special thank you to our Sponsors. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Eastman ATV 2022 Wind Up October 28th

Tickets are on sale now.  Purchase them on the next club ride. Great door prizes again! Thank you to the many many sponsors for this! Looking forward to a few more good rides this year, see you there!
