Eastman ATV June Update

Great News!…..Rides Are On! The June 6 ride is on, we will ride some existing trails and some new trail, some nice canopy trail along the escarpment, it’s a fantastic start to the season featuring the best Eastman ATV trails. Our June 27 Mars Hill is also ON!.
Club rides will be members only, additionally to protect our membership we request that members not to invite guests on rides until we can develop a plan that works for the membership and the volunteers. Planning requires letting us know if you plan on attending, we will see very soon as our schedule is  back on track.  We will send an email to 2020 members for each ride 1 week or so before the ride to confirm ride details. (They have been sent to 2020 members already). Check out all our events at https://eastmanatv.com/events

Hats and T-shirts will be for sale at the 1st ride $20 each. Bring cash. We had the product up in the store for several months with little sales. We are taking most down and will move to one time orders, at this time it will be hats and T-shirts. Let us know by email or order at the store while we have hats ( black or grey) and t-shirts.  Let me know how you would manage our store to carry the right products. See our store at  https://eastmanatv.com/shop-2

Continue to be aware of 2 Meter Physical Distancing. This is the same for stops you make during a ride. Please take the necessary action to keep physical distance, and set an example for others. Wear a face mask or dust mask when you are unable to control the 2 meter buffer in general conversation with other riders.

DANGER Please consider, many members care for people in the high risk category or belong to the high risk category. Please respect Physical Distancing, if we all do that we create a barrier for the high risk.

Eastman ATV is grateful for the recent volunteers that are coming out to help on the trail, join our board and help out on rides. Thank you for coming and being part of building our community.  Please be part of trail development and maintenance.

Special Mention Our 1st club ride this year will take us on part of what was planned for the 2020 ATV Ride For Mom!!! Deborah Nicole founded the “ATV Ride for Mom” and then went on to become president of Eastman ATV. Deborah brought life and enthusiasm to the Ride for Mom, thank you Deborah. The event continues to be one of Eastman ATVs valuable contributors to CancerCare Manitoba, I expect all 700 or 800 who come out for June 5 Saturday 2021 RFM will have a fully enjoyable experience from rider, sponsor and volunteer.

Eastman continues to focus on trails & rides. Same great family price $45 Join Eastman ATV  and get your Membership / voluntary Trail Pass decal. Membership https://eastmanatv.com/product/membership-2020

We would like to have our  AGM in person, we will give 30 days notice as required in our bylaws, sooner would be better to be orderly, we will bring new board members moving forward and vote in at the AGM.

Hopefully the weather is nice and we can do the social part of the meeting outdoors, we will see and keep you posted on the details.

Ride Notice for Eastman ATV – Members Only – Postponed to June 13

June 6th ride postponed to Saturday June 13th we have a ride. Fire risk too high

All 2020 Rides will be limited to only Eastman ATV members. This is due to Covid-19 Provincial restrictions at to keep outdoor gathering capped at 50 people.

  • Location: Eastman ATV Staging Area
  • Time: Meet 9 AM to 9:30 Rolling 10 AM sharp
  • Distance: 100 km
  • Time: 6 hours
  • Lunch: Bring a lunch & water or drinks with extras, for a few break stops

For safety reasons it’s good if you can safely bring additional fuel. Start with a full tank of gas and you should be fine, I always pack it, rarely use it , but when you need it for unforeseen reasons it’s pretty valuable.

Leaving at 10am, we will be riding the existing Eastman ATV trails to the staging area for lunch. We will take the newly proposed Ridge Trail and then in the afternoon we will go onto the newly proposed trail expansion and what we had planned for the 2020.

Please send an email to info@eastmanatv.com, with a yes attending ride, or maybe attending ride? This will greatly help us to get an idea of how to plan. This is not a firm commitment, we just want an idea of how many we may anticipate.

Eastman ATV May 2020 Update

Continue to be aware of 2 Meter Physical Distancing

We have the following Ride changes;
• May 9th Whitemouth Ride Tentatively CANCELED (Once the Province lifts the current 10 person maximum gathering we will have club rides.)
• June 6th ATV Ride for Mom with Eastman ATV is CANCELED. It will be back June 5th 2021.
• June 27th Mars Hill – status to be determined.

From the Provincial government, we are to cancel all non essential travel until further notice. We will abide by this directive as all Manitobans are in an effort to stop transmission of Covid-19. We look forward to getting to our ride schedule as much as you are. As soon as groups of over 10 can meet our rides will go ahead.
Additionally to protect our membership we request that members do not invite guests on rides until further notice. Club rides will be members only. I fully expect we will be having club rides this summer, hopefully for June we will be back on track.
1) Consider where you park, unload, load up that you are giving the proper distance.
2) When you line up for a ride leave 4 meters of space in front of you when coming up to another ORV. This is the same for stops you make during a ride. Please take the necessary action to keep physical distance, and set an example for others.
3) If your machine is being recovered or repaired by someone else, step 2 meters away from your machine until they have completed their task, and they have walked away from your machine before returning to your machine. Effective to stop the transmission;of Covid-19 * keep a distance of 2 meters from others at all times. Wear a face mask or dust mask when in general conversation with other riders.

We have 59 members in our club today.  A really big thank you to these members for showing continued support through this pandemic as this will be a challenging year for many of us. Keeping up with membership allows your club to continue building for tomorrow, that momentum keeps your club focused on trail development so we can go have great rides with your own group or with the club rides. Welcome, welcome new members, we are glad you have joined in support of an organized effort to ensure we have a sustainable trail system now and moving forward, or to come and enjoy club rides  Membership means different things to different people so feel free to attend or not attend club functions. As a member I will keep you informed of all rides, events and updates. I have called most of the membership, and will continue to call all 2020 members to ensure you have received your membership and if you have any questions I can help with. Eastman ATV is looking for a few Trail work volunteers, please contact me and i will give you a call to discuss.

Special Mention Andy Brant was the 1st president of Eastman ATV Association Inc. He developed the original constitution and organized a number of key people that would go on to be key founders in developing organized ATVing in Manitoba, many thanks to Andy for founding the EATV club we all know today.  At our wind up this fall we will be recognizing the many members that have been a part of this club for both 5 and 10 years, and will celebrate those anniversaries.

Eastman ATV April 2020 Update

Covid 19 / 2020 Events & Rides

Action; Physical Distancing Critical Staying 2 to 4 meters apart from each other, before a ride, during stops, and how we say goodbye! Please observe and enforce it, set an example for others. If your machine is being recovered or repaired by someone else, step 2 meters away from your machine until they have completed their task, and they have walked away from your machine before returning to your machine.

DANGER Please consider many members care for people in the high risk category or belong to the high risk category. Please respect Physical Distancing,  if we all do that we create a barrier for the high risk.

We would like you to consider how you can support your club through this challenging year. We really don’t know what will happen this summer, but looking where Covid-19 is going we are in a time of changing freedoms. Riding in groups of 10  is the current group number that can not be exceeded indoors or outdoors gatherings. Uncertain times for sure. We will keep you posted and continue to evolve our plan for the riding season. We know this for sure, this is like no other time before and extraordinary measures are necessary. Our riding schedule will be affected and much smaller groups will be how we ride this season. Maybe we have ride day, provide a map and we let small groups meet up at staging and go? If you have ideas and would like to help, please contact me. We need to ride, let’s figure out how to do it safely.

Eastman ATV March 2020 Update

Our 2020 Rides & Events Schedule

Eastman ATV is looking forward to an eventful riding season. A ride update, will be posted on our website approximately a week before each ride, in order to remind and to confirm that the ride is indeed taking place.
Our pre-ride group (who ride the route beforehand), might decide that the route requires a few changes and therefore, new paths are discovered. These rides are always enjoyable.  Having riders drive through the route beforehand allows for a larger group, on ride day, to travel at a manageable pace with planned stops. Please feel free to inquire about riding along on the pre-ride, which will double your rides this year to a grand total of sixteen.

However, membership doesn’t require a commitment stating that you will attend all club activities and events, everything is voluntary. The membership decal now has “Member Trail Pass” for those who want to voluntarily pay to support trail development and you ride with your own crew so to speak. Your support allows us, as a group, to continue building and maintaining ATV trails. We are grateful for you support. Your membership should feel at home with you.Thank-you for renewing with Eastman ATV if this is your second year or more.  We have noticed that more individuals are remaining or returning to the club. We are grateful for your commitment to our organization. If you are a returning member, we’d appreciate feedback as to why you are returning, so that we can continue to   grow and be a club that works for you.
We have members who have been with Eastman for a number of years and feel that these individuals deserve recognition for their years of support. As a small token of appreciation, we represent these individuals as the gold foundation on our logo

Eastman ATV February 2020 Update

Service equipment – Renewal

What should you be doing now for preparing for spring riding? Get done what you can get done now, plan the rest and the rides are more enjoyable.

Make sure your registration and insurance are up to date and a copy in your ORV.

Of course see your service manual but in most cases you should change your oil and service your air filter before 1st spring ride for sure.  If running through winter off and add a little gas line antifreeze if it’s outside overnight at all and run premium fuel.

If its not running well and you don’t know why bring it in now for service, or make your service plan so you can enjoy the full riding season.

Having a reliable running machine when you’re riding in areas that have no cell service can become critical. For safety considerations I strongly encourage enjoying the benefits of a well serviced machine. Get it done now.

We continue to evolve as an organization and I ask that you come be part by can renew your membership online. Membership can be about the club or the trail.
